Complete (an acrostic poem)

Collecting my thoughts and seeing their condition

Obviously I would prefer a mint ten, but most of them are so-so fives

Maybe if I can get a set they would be worth more

Perhaps I should just throw away the commons

Lest you think I’m a snob, I do like the commons

Even if they aren’t worth much.  Actually none of them are

Thought collecting doesn’t seem too popular these days

Even if your thoughts are exhaustive, they will never be …

Cherub (an acrostic poem)

Can’t believe you’ve been gone this many years my little girl

Heaven is much richer for you

Every day I feel that empty spot in my heart

Realizing you are still there, just that I can’t physically hold you

Until I get to hear you laugh again as you fly

Because of your angel wings

Crash (an acrostic poem)

Counting the number of ceiling tiles for the fifteenth time

Resisting the siren call of sweet sweet slumber

As the voice of the teacher droned on and on

Still the class would just not end.  Had entropy died?

How bad was it when I realized I had drooled all over my desk as I woke up

Courting (an acrostic poem)

Crowning her his queen

Owen was amazed that she said yes

Unsure what to do next, he just stood there

Reaching out, she took his face in her hands

To think they were going to get married

It made him paralyzed with fear

Now she kissed him back to life

Giving him a chance to feel like a king

Crisp (an acrostic poem)

Cold snowflakes danced on the swirling winds

Racing to see how fast they could blind me

I laughed at their tickles as they flew by

Slowly I skated across the pond

Proving that I wasn’t totally a sloth in bracing weather

Carrot (an acrostic poem)

Couldn’t be easier really

Asking for help with her honey sweet come hither voice

Reaching out to make sure they knew what she wanted

Really it shouldn’t always work

Obvious they never opened up their eyes

Till she beat them to death with her large stick

Crooked (an acrostic poem)

Caught in a straitjacket

Reaching for my ball point pen

Outside the moon winks at me

Opening the tiny spaces in my mind

Kicking anxiety into high gear

Everything is so so clear now

Down to my shadow that is bent and broken

Carbon (an acrostic poem)

Crispy bits of animal matter

Attached itself to the grates of the grill

Reaching blackened status, then beyond

Onyx char that hardly remembered what it had once been

Now only fit for archaeologists and garbage collectors
