Cherish (an acrostic poem)

Cute glass penguins littered Marc’s desk and shelves

He was always fondling the damn things

Even when he was chewing out his employees, like right now

Richard thought about grabbing them all and yelling “Opa!” as he smashed them

It would be such cathartic jubilee

Still he sat there and took all of Marc’s abuse in silence

He knew where the janitor kept her keys.  Tonight he would celebrate!

Crashed (an acrostic poem)

Cody hit the wall, then he hit the Monster Energy Drink

Rallying his remaining reserves, Cody began to code some more

As he pounded the keys, Cody realized he was even thinking in code

Still, he could feel the friction of lethargy begin to slow his neurons

He doubled down, blinking away at the ever growing wave of exhaustion

Everything became a blur, but Cody pushed even harder

Didn’t realize a keyboard could leave such an imprint on his drool  drenched cheek

Touched (an acrostic poem)

Taking a chance, Mary sneaked close to Clyde

Oblivious to her hovering, Clyde continued to play his video game

Unable to resist, May moved even closer, invading his personal space

Clyde acknowledged her existence with a grunt

His eyes went wide though as he met his electronic demise

Eyes met, and Mary realized she had crossed a line

Drawing up to her full height, Mary walked away.  Clyde smiled and followed

Gauntlet (an acrostic poem)

Gaining ultimate power, but losing your soul

Anyone want to take that that offer

Useless ideas littering the ruined battlescape

Nearing the end of all that is known

Tell me again, are you interested?

Leave your soul at the door and come on in

Everything will be a different of your choosing

Too bad you really don’t have a choice

Stakeholder (an acrostic poem)

Simple tasks for the minions, that was her motto

Too bad even that was too complicated for her underlings

As she watched her latest plan dissolve into dust

Killing a few of them would help with her anger

Eventually it might even teach them a lesson

However, that was wishful thinking

Overlords had it really tough these days

Looking over her monitors, she frowned

Didn’t having partners mean you work together?

Even as she fumed, her collaborator completed the task she had started

Really having allies suck, especially when they steal your evil schemes

Numbers (an acrostic poem)

No matter how you calculated it, Deidre was in trouble

Unless she could find another way to figure it out

Many digits danced and twirled in front of her

But none of them sat still long enough for her to make them real

Everything was just irrational to her at that moment

Really she just wanted to be done and have a piece of pie

So she left the equation to solve itself and had dessert
