Gave Up (an acrostic poem)

Granted Felix would have admitted to throwing in the towel

It still grated that Linda was the one accusing him of it

Very likely she would hold it over him the rest of his life

Every day reminding him of that failing

Under his breath, he relented and said, “I do.”

Perhaps marrying Linda wouldn’t be so bad

Amazed (an acrostic poem)

Above the clouds was usually a peaceful place

Maybe it was because everyone was plugged into their own world

All the passengers had headphones on or their nose in a book

Zoey smiled at being so close to so many and yet so alone

Eleven hours more to go of this before she had to interact again

Determined to enjoy every moment of this Zen

Framed In (a 150 word story)

Framing the new wall in his basement, Marcus was finally content with its positioning.  It wasn’t his best work, but because of the urgency to get it done, he was happy with it.

He would have been even happier if Dave hadn’t messed up the old wall, making Marcus do this fix.  If the man could have just controlled himself.  But no, he had to keep one-upping Marcus.  Marcus had warned him there would be consequences, but Dave didn’t care and kept pushing.  Now he was gone and left Marcus to fix the problem.

Marcus picked up the first piece of drywall.  He tried to wedge it into place, but Dave’s fingers were in the way.  “Who knew dead bodies would be so uncooperative.”  He chopped off the offending digits, hung the drywall, and chucked the fingers behind it.  Good thing he had drained the body.

“Rest in pieces.”

Pinky (an acrostic poem)

Perhaps being a megalomaniac isn’t the best character trait

It can be quite compulsive and destructive

Now if you can pull it off, it would be glorious

Knowing there is always a chance, maybe tomorrow…

You know, we will try to take over the world!

Wants / Needs (an acrostic poem)

With everything arrayed in front of him

Albert just couldn’t make up his mind

Nothing there would satisfy his itch

Then again, it could be he desired it all.  If only…

Sighing he just sat there

Neville grinned at Albert’s quandary

Everything was going according to plan

Even if Albert made a decision, he would regret it

Doubt was all Neville desired.  His job here was done.

Satan will enjoy this soul!

Drugged (an acrostic poem)

Didn’t know I was so addicted

Reality breaks without you

Until I am huddled in my bed shivering from withdrawal

Give me another hit

Get my engine running again

End this horrible feeling I have in my soul

Don’t ever leave me again, sweety
