Rest (an acrostic poem)

Relaxing with her beer, she smiled at her day

Everything had gone wrong with the day

Still, her family was healthy, and they all had food in their tummies

That, and a good night’s sleep, was all they needed to make tomorrow better

Clown (an acrostic poem)

Coloring her face to hide the emotions inside

Leaving a smile prominently painted in place

Outside she was the embodiment of extroverted entertainment

When the party was over she would sit alone in her car and cry

No one knew that the joke was on them

Slick (an acrostic poem)

Sliding along life, day by day

Looking for where his next grift would be

It kept things interesting.

Could be he’d hit it big or go hungry

Knowing would be boring, more fun to keep on sliding

Teacher (an acrostic poem)

The problem seemed unsolvable

Everyone in the class vehemently agreed that it couldn’t be done

And Miss Snow wistfully agreed, but then she began to ask questions

Can you.. could you… how would you…

Having their preconceived notions challenged, they began to explore

Engaging the problem with new vigor, trying new possible solutions

Reaching the answer, they were proud to prove Miss Snow wrong.

Adventure (an acrostic poem)

As you sally forth into your day

Do you practice safe socialization?

Verify sane hand sanitation?

Ensure quarantine if feeling ill?

Now if we all partake this journey together

Then the fellowship will succeed and the foe will be vanquished

Unless we show weakness in solidarity

Releasing the hordes of invaders onto the vulnerable of our clan

Everyone wants to be the hero.  Now is your time!

Furry (an acrostic poem)

Fraser combed his arm hair against the grain

Unleashing waves of golden amber hair to crash back upon hardened muscle

Rays of sunlight danced upon the same golden coat covering his back

Really he figured he should shave some of it off

Yet there was the fun of the mystique of being part werewolf that he enjoyed

Soapy (an acrostic conversation)

So this thing about washing your hands?

Obviously you need to do it every time.

And if you don’t?  I’m asking for a friend.

Perhaps I don’t shake hands with you anymore.

Yeah.  That’s probably a good idea.
