Present (an acrostic poem)

Put a bow on it and it would be done

Really that seemed so old school

Everyone these days was striving to be original

So it meant a lazy old bow on top would be just too boomer

Everything about him giving it to her would be on TikTok, so he couldn’t disappoint

Now the use of a bow on a gift might not get views

The strategic placement of it as he gave it to her in his birthday suit though….

Glare (an acrostic poem)

Gazing into the bright light

Left him feeling quite monotone

As all the color left his supersaturated world

Revealing very little detail of what was around him

Everything just seemed more of the same

Release (an acrostic poem)

Racing towards a climax

Everything slows down

Losing oneself in the moment

Every sensation is amplified

And the pressure continues to build

So when you plunge over the edge

Everything feels of so right

Sweet (an acrostic poem)

Saccharine dreams and ideals permeate her world

Winding her up into a sugar coma

Everything becomes a surreal new reality

Enabling dark pits and holes to grow in the enamel of her TV smile

That didn’t matter though, because the nothings told her so

Costume (an acrostic poem)

Clothing makes the man they say

Or in his case, they allowed him to blend in

So that the prey around him didn’t recognize predator in their midst

Though they would be nervous as if they could see through his disguise

Undercover he enjoyed taking his time

Meticulously picking his next victim

Enjoying the chaos he left in his wake

Valley (an acrostic poem)

Vast hills of overwhelming emotions rim his psyche

All casting shadows in the depths where he lays at rest

Looking at the prospect of climbing out

Leaves him feeling exhausted before he even begins

Every step a struggle, the climb pure torture

Yet once high up in the surrounding hilltops the view of tomorrow is amazing

Pupil (an acrostic poem)

Perhaps the eyes are the mirror to the soul

Until you think about that little crack in the facade

Potentially that means your soul might be trying to break out

It could also mean that your soul doesn’t really want to be seen, breaking the glass

Leaving you either a prison to break free from or just broken
