Mask (an acrostic poem)

May your true self always be hidden from prying eyes

As you go about your daily life

Simplifies things like emotional attachments

Keeping everyone distant and you, safe.

Bridge (an acrostic poem)

Being so far apart just doesn’t feel right

Raging emotions flow like white water between us

It makes the divide seem so daunting

Discourse allows us to begin to build a way from both sides

Greeting each other on firmer neutral ground in the middle

Enabling us to have an honest discussion letting the turbulent water flow under the…

Boots (an acrostic poem)

Been cheating on me, okay I get it

Obviously I bore you because I’m just a cowgirl

Ordinary with a drawl, but let me tell you about country girls

These feet are definitely made for walking

So as Flo used to say, “Kiss my girts!”

Anchor (an acrostic poem)

Adrift in a sea of high emotions

No sunrise on the horizon to be found

Caution blew away with the high winds hours ago

Hearing the waves pounding on the rocks

Only thing he could safely do was ground himself against the current

Releasing the weight, he felt it plunge deep and hold, but for how long

Crease (an acrostic poem)

Cutting and tape would be cheating

Realize the Zen of proper folding

Elephants and cranes made of paper

As fingers show off their dexterity

Solemnly teasing out a third dimension from two

Evoking the surreal as its goal

Crunch (an acrostic poem)

Chewing through the textures dancing in my mouth

Reveling in the amount of noise that escapes my piehole

Until everything Is broken down into the mush my stomach desires

Necessitating another bite of that audio and physical harmony

Chomping down on another symphony of mastication

Hope there are many encores!

Flip (an acrostic poem)

Feeling like a coin spinning through the air

Listing endlessly from heads to tails and back again

It makes for an uncomfortable situation and fills those around you with apprehension.

Perhaps instead of chocolate or vanilla soft serve,  you might settle on your edge, twist!
