Pencil (an acrostic poem)

People say the pen is mightier than the sword

Except they are missing the point, the manually sharpened point

Now you could include mechanical versions, but that is such a lazy game

Can’t use all geometric aspects of the lead to create crisp lines to gentle shading

It is a uni-tasker, and as such fits more of the pen diatribe

Let’s admit it, all the power you need is located in a good No. 2…

Crabby (an acrostic poem)

Couldn’t care less what you think Miss Know It All!

Rarely does something come out of your mouth that’s worth a damn

And right now isn’t one of those moments

Being the refined person, such that I am, I won’t allow myself to stoop to your level

Because to do so would admit that you put me in a foul temper, but we both know that’s not the case

You just run along now and go to Hell, you hear?

Defeat (an acrostic poem)

Determined to go to bed sooner

Enabling a more refreshing start to the week

Fumbling through the stuff that had to be done

Everything taking so much more time to do

And some of it didn’t work out at all

Then the clock read 2 a.m. and he had to admit…

Instrument (an acrostic poem)

It felt like Bob was being played

Not that the rest of his bandmates would agree

Songwriting was his thing, coming up with melodies and words, but harmonies…

That’s why Bob had to admit producing was not his forte

Ron was the guy arranging all his songs, and Bob was usually happy with that

Until Ron was insistent that this idea would put the song over the top

Meaning he should buy into it, trust Ron and the process

Except this idea seemed so dumb that he just couldn’t get behind it

Now everyone was staring at him wondering why he wouldn’t at least try, but

There was no way that a ballad needed more cowbell!

Trust (an acrostic poem)

The money wasn’t everything. Okay, who was he trying to fool.

Really it was all about the money, but he didn’t have to admit it.

Under normal circumstances he wouldn’t have to work a day in his life.

Such was the life of a fund baby. all thanks to grandma.

That was before he put his faith in his lawyer and that prenup agreement.
