Crass (an acrostic poem)

Can’t say something nice, you shouldn’t say anything at all?

Realize this is the biggest lie you have been fed all your life.

As if your opinion should be mitigated by some sort of empathy filter.

So you shouldn’t call out the stupidity slapping you in the face?

Shut up and sit down on that iron pole over there if you disagree.

How do you get better at something?

Almost always the answer is doing

I have been writing a poem a day for the past nine years

Know that sometimes they were bad, but sometimes they were good

Undertake a journey today and read some.  The link below is to all 3,287 …

Flour (an acrostic poem)

Flowers were nice and all

Letting you show that you care

Oh, but that is so trite and common

Unusual gifts will demonstrate you care that much more

Really you should give her a loaf of freshly baked homemade bread

Collect (an acrostic poem)

Can I please have them all?

Or at least the ones that I don’t have yet?

Let me assure you, I will keep them forever.

Loving the ability to know I have everything.

Except the really really expensive ones.

Can’t afford to get those…. yet.

That will be an acquisition in the future.

Find (an acrostic poem)

Image: upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/ea/Magnifying_glass_with_focus_on_paper.png

Focusing on what he had lost stole all his spare time and consumed his happiness.

It left him starved for the nourishment that was “The Before”.

Now that she had come into his life, all that was scrambled.

Didn’t get back any spare time, but he was stuffed with happiness

Many hands make the chore light

And that was his philosophy through life

Reaching out with his hands to help all those he could

Keeping to this up even as he passed, so many came to celebrate him, it made his passing easier.

Bust (an acrostic poem)

Image: rwcatskills.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/How-to-play-Black-Jack-scaled.jpg

Building a tower of luck and lies she raised her bet

Understanding it was all or nothing now

She tapped for a card and held her breath

The dealer flipped a card and smiled sadly

Thunder (an acrostic poem)

Image: assets.thespinoff.co.nz/1/2019/06/eight_col_lightning-thumb.jpg

The storm crashed through the valley

Heaving tree branches and debris to-and-fro

Until there seemed to a charged pause

Negative particles madly dash from sky to ground

Determined to find a place to rest

Except that outbreak from the heavens causes heated air to flee the scene

Resulting in colder air to rush in and clap at the drama of it all
