Letting the coin spin in the air

Unclear what fate would determine I feel my anxiety rise

Catching it and slapping it on my wrist my anxiety fled and I felt content

Knowing that my future had been decided

Story (an acrostic poem)

Solid pieces of imagination

That are forced into reality through the writer’s skill and anxiety

Order forged out of the chaos of emotions

Released into the world to live or die upon the whims of readers

Yet likely the author will mourn either way

Anxiety (an acrostic poem)

Anxiously, she slowly opened the valve

Nicki held her breath as the cell began to fill

Xenon gas soon displaced the oxygen

It supposedly made the experiment safe

Everything in her soul screamed that something was wrong

That’s when she heard a tink sound

Yelling she threw herself to the floor, but nothing happened

Silent (an acrostic poem)

She drifted to the back of the room

It just felt more comfortable being out of the spotlight

Liza didn’t like performing on demand

Even when she was paid for it she had such anxiety

Now allow her her quiet space and she blossomed

That was hard when you were master of ceremonies

Trip (an acrostic poem)

The frequent flyer miles might be great, but he hadn’t signed up

Really he hated flying, especially the landings

It always gave him anxiety that moment just before touching down

Pain exploded in his head as he hit the floor.

Anxiety Attack (an acrostic poem)

All the things were out to get him

Now his wife was in on the mission

Xenon headlights broke the darkness in front of his speeding car

If he could just get across the state line

Eventually, they would give up their chase

Then flashing lights stabbed him from behind

Yanking the wheel hard to the right he crashed through the guardrail

All of a sudden he was in free fall

That was when it finally hit him

They couldn’t follow him here

All they could do was watch

Calm now he accepted the oncoming water with a smile

Knowing he had finally escaped
