“People are going to see right through this.”

“Really? All you need to do is smile and nod when talked to.”

“Others are going to think that’s weird behavior for a boyfriend.”

“People don’t care about you. I just need another bangle on my arm for decoration.”

Legend (an acrostic poem)

Leaving it all behind was going to be hard

Everyone knew her name, her story

Giving up everything to save their nation and their world

Eventually losing her left eye and arm in the dragon’s fire

Now she quietly sits in the town square every day and enjoys what sun there is

Determined to let her legacy pass into myth and…

Scent (an acrostic poem)

Smelling your perfume on your pillow lingering with me in bed

Covers draped over my chest like your arm was

Every memory of you comes flooding back

Now you’re gone, so I get up and give your pillow another spritz.

That way I can wake up to you again tomorrow.

Furry (an acrostic poem)

Fraser combed his arm hair against the grain

Unleashing waves of golden amber hair to crash back upon hardened muscle

Knot (an acrostic poem)

Kissing his new bride made Gene so happy

Now all they had to do was walk down the aisle

Offering his arm, he escorted his wife down the stairs

Too bad his shoelaces had come undone.  He should have tied more than one…

Fresh Start (an acrostic poem)

Freedom to begin again greeted the Fox Battalion

Recent loses during the war had decimated their group

Even their commander, General Talli, had lost an arm and a leg

Still they had plenty of fight left in them

How could they not?  It was all any of them knew how to do.

Staring at the assembled battalion

Talli began her speech

Although peace has been costly, bought by spending many lives

Really the hard work now begins.  They think they don’t need us now

They are mistaken.”   Her troops fired their weapons into the air in response
