Adulthood (a 50 word story)

“When you’re an adult you can do anything you want.”

That’s what Ron remembered hearing over and over again growing up.  Now as he paid his credit cards and watched his bank account balance drift precipitously towards zero he wondered if they meant anything free, if he had free time…

Placeholder (an acrostic poem)

Pushing paper for the sake of some numbers added to his bank account

Larry kept trying to look at the bright side

Anyone could do this, but he had found his level of mediocrity

Could be so much worse, like having to make decisions

Everything would come to a stop then.

Hate was not too strong of a word to describe Larry’s feelings on that

Once something worked, you did not rock the boat

Larry smiled as he read the same report for the fifteenth time

Determining it passed his criteria he stamped it approved and moved on

Everything today was turning out exactly as planned

Realization of his life made the bright side a bit dimmer
