Cupped hands holding all the ideas I had
And I am running to find the places they all need to be planted
Reaching my first destination, I try to plant just one idea
Really screw up and most tumble through my fingers to infertile ground. Devastating!
Yet after a period of mourning I rush on, and something miraculous happens. My hands refill!
Oh if I knew ideas would repopulate I would not have been so careful in the beginning
Now you know. Rush and let your ideas scatter, and wait to see what awesomeness grows!
Now everyone was counting the seconds
Excited about a new beginning, a new something
What changes were possible
Yet he sat on the couch and sipped his champagne calmly
Every day was his chance to begin anew, to try to right his wrongs
And that allowed him to find peace with himself every night as he went to sleep
Ready to celebrate a new chance, a new resolution, every day. That was worth celebrating
Coming to the end meant that it was time for a new beginning
Until now, he had never thought about what that next would be
Since it seemed impossible that they had a chance to survive this nightmare
Pushing that aside he took out the Ring and was about to throw it in, but he had second thoughts…
Every single one of them were gone
X marked the spot where the last one had died
That seemed such a minor thing at the time, and yet
It was the beginning of the end for the rest of us
Now I stand here to make another monument
Chiseling an X using my fingernails on the spot I stand
This is where the last of us will take their final breathe
“Look, everything has a beginning and an ending”
“Oh, except the universe, or an eight, or a circle, or…”
“Okay, you made your point”
“Points are finite. That has a beginning and an ending”
Time to go to bed.
It’s been a long and trying day.
Ready for the sun to rise, marking a new beginning,
Except I still need to get these three things done.
Do I have to do them tonight or can it wait till tomorrow?
Like my love for you, a circle has no beginning or end
Of course, let two equal circles touch and now you have infinity
Only that infinity is how long I want to be with you, and those two circles are us
Perhaps that’s why a circle represents my love for you that has no beginning or end
Every new beginning has that night before
Veiled in ambiguousness and anonymity
Experience that tonight, and may your tomorrow be ever changed
The realization that you are burnt out
Oh, and you know that the whole thing is just beginning
And that’s why you feel so crusty
So butter up, buttercup, and take a deep breath
Then when you feel less crispy take another bite.
When you cross that finish line and accomplish the difficult
Obviously, you feel accomplishment, but that’s just the beginning
Now you have to ask what’s next and attack it
