Library of cultural knowledge

Orally transferred from generation to generation

Recycling both fact and fiction interwoven

Enveloping a people with their blanket of tradition

Silicon beds abound with bivalves

Hidden under a blanket of warm tropical water

Every wave akin to a gentle breeze that brings savory delights

Letting the colony feast on the bounty of the surrounding sea

Life might suck, but for an ocean filter, that means you are living large!

Being depressed on a day where light rains down from a robin’s egg sky

Leaves her wanting to curse up and down for feeling blah on such a perfect day

Ultimately, she goes to her safe space, puts on some B.B. King, and curls up in a ball

Enveloped in her azure blanket, she lets loose her own rain

Winter Blessings (a 100 word story)

The snow continued to fall, covering the refuse of Gary’s life.  He smiled at the cold whitewashing of his previous mistakes.  It gave him a crisp clean perspective on his past.  The sad thing was he knew soon the sun would come out and the blanket of white would melt away, allowing his warts to once again be in plain sight.

At least for now he could pretend there had been nothing wrong as he sipped his spiked hot chocolate in front of the fireplace.  Spring can take its own sweet time.  He was happy to be buried in blankness.
