“So I want to try it before I buy”

“As if! That’s not how this works, Honey.”

“Maybe not usually, but I want to make sure I like it before my purchase.”

“Please! Look. What is there not to like? I promise it will be mind-blowing.”

“Let me just try it for a short little bit. You know they say the customer’s always right.”

“Everyone’s a comedian. Instead of the job you asked for, why don’t you blow off!”

Jumping fists flying through the empty space

As breath explodes from her chest

Blow after blow on her imaginary opponent

Fade (an acrostic poem)

 

Foundations of water dry up

And the once fertile soil begins to blow away

Destroying years of what was built up

Everything slowly decaying

Dragon (an acrostic poem)

Darwin hefted his heavy crossbow and took aim

Randy was distracting the wyrm with his stupid antics

Allowing Darwin a chance to strike the killing blow

Got to hit it through the eye and into the brainpan

One in a million shot, even at the best of times, but Darwin knew he was better than that

Never counted on the beast blinking.  Darwin never felt the flames

Enough (an acrostic poem)

Evening faded into the background as he turned up the noise

Nothing special, just something to keep the world from invading

Outside he looked like he was just chilling out

Underneath he was boiling with emotions

Going to blow any minute like one of those geysers

He just couldn’t take it anymore.  Soon the water escaped, but one drop at a time.
