Conjuring up a little bit of magic
As he waved his wand in the air
Setting loose his spell
That he hoped would ensnare that damned trout
Conjuring up a little bit of magic
As he waved his wand in the air
Setting loose his spell
That he hoped would ensnare that damned trout
Lacking his dialog cue, he marched in a circle
As he muttered incomprehensibly to himself
So it was surprising when he stopped and told everyone to shush
The silence stretched on forever.
So long that when he said his line the audience and cast gave him an ovation.
Stars send speeding photons flying through the nothingness
To land blissfully on my eyes as I look heavenward
Awestruck at the age of the light that graced me
Realizing a small chunk of ancient history
Looking at a place that might not exist anymore
It causes me to pause, wondering what I am casting into the void around me
Giving life to something that will outlast my stay in this universe
Hoping that someone will gaze upon that something and be inspired
To create their own light and cast it into the unknown

So what would you say if I told you that magic really does exist
That it surrounds you, but you don’t even notice it
Or that you probably have magic in your house right now
Really. Lean in close and let me tell you a secret
You only need to open a book and let it cast its spell on you
Home is home, but sometimes you just live in a place
Outside is allowed to get ragged, inside things are just left where they are
Vistas of unkept memories and mementos cast aside without a care
Eclipsing all hopes of doing something about it, to make it a livable space
Leaving you to wonder if it is just a condemned dwelling, or a wasted life
So do you believe in the magic that surrounds you?
Pushing the fantastical into the factual
Enabling imagination to define reality
Letting wonder bloom in the field of drab predictability
Let’s drink deep of this fever dream and cast our fancy into the world
Character acting her way through life
Anyone who knew her would find out they didn’t really know her
She was that good at putting on a performance
The only thing that was real was her curtain call
My valentine cast a spell on me
As she breathed out the words “I do”,
Giving me that moment I had been craving my whole life.
It was too perfect.
Could this all be an illusion?
Concrete concepts about ethereal energies
Allowed Marcus to start to subtle shades of unseeable colors
So he sent his will into the void to draw a picture of what he wanted
The art bloomed into reality. It was magical
