Chord (an acrostic poem)

Catching emotions in a secret stack of tones

Heartening those who heard, and pleased the Lord

One after another, the fourth, the fifth

Reaching a crescendo in a major lift

Determined to inspire all to sing out “Hallelujah”

An homage to “Hallelujah” by Leonard Cohen

Anytime he was awake, he craved the release
Didn’t matter that it wasn’t good for him
Didn’t matter if it cost him everything
It only mattered achieving that all-consuming bliss
Catching that dopamine hit and sustaining it as long as possible
That’s why the six of them held an intercession and checked Dopey into rehab

Luck (an acrostic poem)

Letting the coin spin in the air

Unclear what fate would determine I feel my anxiety rise

Catching it and slapping it on my wrist my anxiety fled and I felt content

Knowing that my future had been decided

Parrots (an acrostic conversation)

Perhaps he is just sleeping.

And that’s the excuse you want to go with?

Really, he could be just catching some shut-eye.

Realize that I have watched the Monty Python skit like a billion times.

Oh, then yeah, he’s dead

That was anticlimactic.

So do you want to start it from the top again?
