So he was happy with being a circle

He liked that better than being a square

And he loved all the food pyramid equally

Perhaps he should have used the heart attack as a stop sign, but…

Eventually it caught up to him, and he was placed in a rectangle box

Outside, the darkness was pierced by the full moon

Making the fallen leaves look hauntingly surreal

It was then we she heard the sound of something approaching

Nearer it got, the faster it seemed to be moving, the louder it became, the harder her heart beat

Old primal fears rose from the depths of her hindbrain.  She began to flee the sound

Undulating ground eventually caught her foot causing her to sprawl to the ground

Still, the sounds were getting closer, faster, louder.

Rat race?  You want to talk to me about a rat race?

Ordinarily I would tell you to pick up your cheese and go home

Don’t understand why people like you poke your nose into these parts

Everyone should have a chance to escape the maze, sure. but

Not going to stop you from getting caught in the traps strewn about

That snap will be your early finish line.  Now that’s a rat race!

Stone (an acrostic poem)

So that was the moment he pulled out the engagement ring.

That caught her off guard.  She wasn’t ready yet, but was that her doubt talking?

Only here was the large diamond breaking the light into rainbows in her face.

Now was when she had to make the big decision, not later.  What should she do?

Eventually that became the bedrock of the rest of her life.
