Putting words together on the screen
Results in so many possibilities
Outgrowing the original sum of the whole
Giving life to something that
Revision upon revision created
And each one is a step closer
Making the machine come alive.
Putting words together on the screen
Results in so many possibilities
Outgrowing the original sum of the whole
Giving life to something that
Revision upon revision created
And each one is a step closer
Making the machine come alive.
Putting the focused energy of emotion into the “thing”
And feeling like even if it doesn’t work, well you are still one step closer
Such that you recognize that the wall exists
So you can dig under it, climb over it, blow it up, make a tunnel through
If you don’t have that focus, that wall hurts to run into
Once, twice you will run into it and then wander off because it is too much
Never finding out what is on the other side
“So let me get this straight. I need to stay with you”
“That’s an understatement. You need to get even closer than you are now.”
“Until when exactly?”
“Could be a real long time. Depends on life. I can promise it won’t be boring, though”
“Knowing you, I’m not surprised. Okay, Reverend, I do.”
Looking through the telescope
Everything looks so much closer
Nothing is beyond his ability to observe
So the only reason he stopped was because the police knocked
Love was definitely too strong of a word
It was kind of possibly closer to admiring or appreciating
Knowing they were all related he gave up and confessed his feelings to her
Everyone laughed when he said to her “I prefer you. A lot.”
Signals of her desire radiated outward at the speed of emotion.
Even as dense as he was, he had to sense something.
Nodding, he seemed ready to speak. She stepped closer, hopeful.
Don’t you know it he ran away instead? Next time she was going to try semaphore!
Outside, the darkness was pierced by the full moon
Making the fallen leaves look hauntingly surreal
It was then we she heard the sound of something approaching
Nearer it got, the faster it seemed to be moving, the louder it became, the harder her heart beat
Old primal fears rose from the depths of her hindbrain. She began to flee the sound
Undulating ground eventually caught her foot causing her to sprawl to the ground
Still, the sounds were getting closer, faster, louder.
Trying to warm my hands, body, and soul
Every sip gets me one step closer
And just like that, it’s gone, but its mission is accomplished
