Dali (an acrostic poem)

Damaged and melting within a bright-colored landscape

A juxtaposition of reality and imagination

Leaving one breathless between comfort and discomfort

It is a surreal feeling

Be brave and spread your wings

It might seem insane to jump out of your comfort zone

Releasing your safety for the unknown

Don’t hold back.  It is time for you to fly.

Hygge (an acrostic poem)

Hearth is happily crackling, telling a tale of mirth

Yielding a soft warm glow into the room

Gifting a cozy sense of calm and comfort

Grafting the coming season to your soul

Entombing negative feelings for another time, another place

Comfort (an acrostic poem)

Creamy mac and cheese gooeyness winked at her from the plate

Ordering it had been a close thing.

More often than not she would have just gotten the salad

Fork discarded, she hefted her spoon

Outside world faded away as she hefted the golden goodness into her mouth

Relishing as her tastebuds fully validated her decision

That’s when she felt the warm and fuzzies from her head to her toes.

Place (an acrostic poem)

Putting things away, be they trinkets, memories, or even people

Leaves me feeling complete, and yet filled with an uneasy energy

As if the more compact I make my life, the more space I have to get lost in

Could it be clutter is the equivalent of comfort

Even to the point of not knowing where I am anymore?
