Celebrate (an acrostic poem)

Cliff looked at the assembled friends and hung an appreciative smile on his face

Everything was too perfect to those in attendance

Looks were more important than any bitter reality

Even if behind the looks rotted what was left of his decaying heart

Being a zombie with a human veneer should have been easier

Reaching forward to blow the candles out, Cliff’s only wish was for it to by quickly

Aggie smiled her know it all smile as she could see the monster she had created

Tearing another part of his humanity away, he blew out the flames

Eventually the pain would end, but not before that smile
