Prince (an acrostic poem)

Perhaps one day I will be a king

Reaching up and placing the crown on my own head

It would be then where I fulfill my destiny

Never looking back, I would break down barriers and shatter glass ceilings

Creating new norms that would create a more equitable society

Even though some may call me queen, my breasts won’t define me!

Wander (an acrostic poem)

Which way should I go next?

As the summer breaks over the horizon

Number of paths open up before me

Destiny awaits on the other side

Every step will be an adventure

Ready or not, here I come!

Legend (an acrostic poem)

Little more could be said, much less done

Everyone just stared as she walked across the floor

Gwen had accomplished the nigh impossible

Eyewitnesses would spread her story from here

New tales even more fanciful would be spun from the cloth of this truth

Destiny can kiss her ass.  She owned that bitch

Destiny (an acrostic poem)

Determined to be the great hope since birth

Emily always had the burden of being the chosen one

She was chosen to watch her sisters, chosen to become a doctor

Then she was chosen for lifting her family out of poverty

It was enough to be soul-crushing

Never was she allowed to do something just for herself

Yet when she finally fulfilled all the predictions she took her own life as a way of claiming it back

Destiny (an acrostic poem)

Didn’t see that old woman coming

Even after she told me I had to do it

Still I tried to fight her prophecy

Too bad I just didn’t listen

I ended up going further down such a painful path

Now I was finally doing what I was told to do

You would think Mom would finally cut me a break

The Double D’s (a 100 word monologue)

I have looked into the face of Defeat, and I have laughed.  Defeat then punched me in the face and asked if I still thought it was still funny as I fell to the ground.

So now I am looking at the feet of Defeat, and I chuckle again because the feet of Defeat just sounds silly.  Defeat does not take too kindly to this and makes sure I get a close up of Defeat’s feet as Defeat kicks me in the teeth.

I just hope tomorrow I can still find my teeth, because I have a date with Destiny.
