Color (an acrostic poem)

Couldn’t tell the difference between red and blue

Or blue and green for that matter

Looking at everything in grayscale made paint choices easier

Only paying attention to lights and darks

Reaching for his brush he channeled his inner M. C. Escher

Bash (an acrostic poem)

Beating up on the game controller

As he hit all the buttons to try to win the game

Sometimes it worked, but most of the time he lost

However, it didn’t make a difference.  He still had fun

Winter (an acrostic poem)

When Mother Nature’s dandruff flakes cover the hard gray-brown ground

It makes me want to give her a shampoo that would help with her scalp condition

Now you might think that I’m being uncaring and callous

True, but I think not letting her know about her problem perpetuates all the negative

Everyone would benefit from her doing a little bit of hygiene

Really, it would make head and shoulders of a difference

Plastic (an acrostic poem)

Pliable emotions allowed them to bend and not break

Letting the couple withstand so many of life’s issues

And it also let their souls meld into a perfect fit with each other

So it was no surprise to those around that as their features morphed by time’s hands

That it didn’t make a difference to the beauty they saw in each other

It was inspirational to view, to feel

Can something like that be recycled for the betterment of society?

Slip (an acrostic conversation)

So, you thought I would lapse in my attentiveness, and then you would give me the underdress.

Lilly, what are you blundering about this time?

It makes no difference, I found the small dock you parked your getaway dingy at!

Perhaps before you verbally stumble some more you should hand over the thesaurus.

Mouse (an acrostic poem)

Maybe those dreams of grandeur are inflating your ego

Obviously weighing over a ton would be great

Under a pair of majestic antlers atop your head

Still, remember little one, there is a difference in what you are and your dreams

Even though it’s just a u and an o.

Cash (an acrostic poem)

Counterfeit bills lined his bedroom like wallpaper

And he doesn’t tell his “visitors” the difference

So when they take their due and leave he just prints more

He should have felt bad, but he just didn’t give a buck

Shade (an acrostic poem)

Shadows danced in his eyes, and that’s what mesmerized her

He haunted her every waking moment, and then those dreams

Any difference between dream and reality were very slight variations

Darkening her ability to keep a coherent thought

Eventually, his veil was lifted, but it was too late for her
