“Exactly what do you want for dinner?”
“Anything that is edible.”
“That means you don’t want me to cook.”

Cuisine so fine that that it demanded to be taken out for a dinner date
He showered her with flavors that were tart, sweet, salty, and spicy
Everything balanced to a perfection, a true masterpiece of culinary art
Food may be temporally empheneral, but the memories of that meal will be eternal
She wanted to feel special
Puckering up she put on her bright red lipstick
And her dazzling blue eyeliner
Reaching for her glittery teal eye shadow, she applied it liberally
Knowing it was almost time for her date, she began to get excited…
Liam smiled when he saw his twelve-year-old daughter make her entrance
Everything she did shouted how important she was to him. Their dinner together was going to be special.
Dinner rush was hitting hard, not a seat at the counter was empty
It was moments like this that made Tracy’s spirit sing
Nudging her to be more efficient taking orders, expediting, and jumping on the line
Energy flowed from her to her customers satisfying their appetite for perfection
Rush ended and Tracy felt wrung out since she had poured out her soul into their meals

Dinner was coming soon, he was sure of it
It just meant waiting a bit more
Not that is stopped him from eating a candy bar
Everything would be fine as long as she didn’t find out

For goodness sake, I thought you would be prettier.
Really? That’s how you want to start our date?
Actually, yes. I told you I was honest to a fault when we talked on the phone
Now that was truth in advertising. Refreshing. Still, you’re a jerk, and I’ll be leaving.
Knew that would happen. At least I didn’t have to buy your dinner.

Can’t believe she is sitting across from me
And the kids are nowhere in sight
Now in the flickering light
Dinner is slowly consumed
Listening to each other without the constant munchkin banter
Enjoying the birthday of his marriage

Silently my stomach ambushes me
Not giving me a chance to finish making my meal
All I can think of is how much I want to eat something, anything
Candy soon fills my pie hole, ruining my dinner, but still
Killing my hunger dead in its tracks

Spencer looked out over the myriad of restaurants in front of him
Penelope wanted him to mix it up and get out of this rut
Instead his eyes kept gravitating to Mel’s Diner, his usual hangout
Clearly he was going to give in, no matter what Penelope said
Yet he promised himself he would try the curry duck as he patted his antacids.
I am at war with nature. I have had to watch numerous videos about how sex is only allowed with sober consent, and yet Mother Nature is jumping my immune system with her reproductive junk without even taking me out for dinner and a movie. I am so abused in this relationship I want her to be locked up, or at least go to counseling. When I say no, it should mean no. Even when I sleep she is up to her nefarious tricks. Don’t you ever get enough, Mother Nature? I can’t wait till you take a cold shower!
