Distant (an acrostic conversation)

Don’t know how to tell you this.

If you don’t know how then just blurt it out like you usually do

See, we have been so close for so long

That’s an understatement.  We’ve been married for twenty-two years

And in all that time I feel we’ve been growing apart

Not this again.  What did you do this time?

That’s something I only would tell my friends

Mask (an acrostic poem)

May your true self always be hidden from prying eyes

As you go about your daily life

Simplifies things like emotional attachments

Keeping everyone distant and you, safe.

Stars (an acrostic poem)

So many distant suns twinkling as they watch from above

They escort the night across the sky

Arriving at the horizon to be relieved of their duty

Resting till called upon as their little sister fades to black

Silent sentries stoic in their duty
