Vector (an acrostic poem)

Velocity was too high and from the wrong direction for the two spacecraft to dock.

Even with all the acceleration he had at his fingertips, the joining would not be successful.

Considering the impulse they were about to experience, he shouted, “Brace yourselves!”

The impact caused them to increase angular momentum, spinning them and the forces pinned them hard against their seats.

Observing their attempted destination spin away into the void, he fired the thrusters to arrest the erratic rotation.

Rockets fired and the spacecraft slowed in the gravitational field it floated in.

Slip (an acrostic conversation)

So, you thought I would lapse in my attentiveness, and then you would give me the underdress.

Lilly, what are you blundering about this time?

It makes no difference, I found the small dock you parked your getaway dingy at!

Perhaps before you verbally stumble some more you should hand over the thesaurus.

Last Chance (an acrostic poem)

Looking at what her choices were, she touched the cold steel behind her back

Ashley stripped off her most of her clothes and slipped into the lake

Shivers from the cold water caused her skin to pucker

Trembles continued down her arms as she began to swim for the dock

Charlie couldn’t believe his eyes

Here was his dream coming true

Ashley was coming to meet him, alone, on his terms

Not in his wildest fantasies did he think this would ever happen

Catching his first glimpse of her coming out of the water

Everything moved in slow motion as she stabbed him literally in the heart
