Don’t think I can get enough of you

Racing through my veins and making my heart beat hard and fast

Until I feel I might explode from the feeling of pure bliss

Grinning, I whisper into your ear, “Give me another hit.”

Addicted (an acrostic poem)

After everything was said and done, Dave still took another hit

Didn’t matter that he knew better, the cravings were his master

Dopamine receptors fired up as the drug hit his system

It gave him a feeling of normalcy, which sucked worse than the cravings

Counting to ten he waited, but there was nothing more

To think that same hit would have had him flying just a couple of months ago

Even now he could feel the craving begin to awaken

Damned if he did, damned if he didn’t, damn it to hell!
