Clock (an acrostic poem)

Counting down the hours, minutes, and seconds was painful

Letting my emotions swing back and forth, back and forth, twisting my gut in knots

Observing how life seems to move in slow motion making breathing difficult

Can’t seem to make those hands spin any faster, even if I stare so hard at the thing I go blind

Killing time sounds like it would be easy, but now I realize time is killing me instead

Empty (an acrostic poem)

Every word he wrote on the paper was a bucket full of holes

Making them equally as worthless at holding anything inside

Perhaps he should just give up now and save the time and effort

Though it did make the lifting of each one easier in its own way

Yes, maybe he would haul of them into place now since it was easy and spackle it all together during rewrites

Easy (an acrostic poem)

Effortlessly he spouted the information he knew she needed

And was proud of how much he had helped her

So it came as a surprise when she screamed and swore at him

You would think since she was a gynecologist she would be more appreciative when he explained how a female orgasms

Plunger (an acrostic poem)

Penelope looked at her kids and shook her head

Loving them was usually so easy, even if they were little witches

Until they broke something.  This time it was the toilet

Now she needed to put on her rubber gloves and pull out her weapon of choice

Going into the bathroom, she stopped in her tracks for a second

Everything was covered!

Readying for her weapon, she battled the summoned demon back down the bowl and flushed.

Sense (an acrostic poem)

She smelled easy money in the air

Everyone was all beer, pizza, and Buffalo winged out.

Now she felt it was time for her to execute her plan while they were in the drunken gluttony afterglow

So fellas, listen up. What do you say we have a little side wager on the game?

Everyone agreed. Two hours later she was seen five hundred dollars richer

Chain (an acrostic Poem)

Connecting the dots ways always the easy part

Hard part was then making the dominoes fall in order

As so many factors had to be juggled for the Rube Goldberg plan to work

It was almost something straight from a summer blockbuster

Not that he had to worry about.  The first link broke leaving him dreaming of what might have been

Innovate (an acrostic poem)

Image: assets.entrepreneur.com/content/3×2/2000/20200316190611-GettyImages-1127257350.jpeg

It all comes down to creating something new

Not that it is easy, but with inspiration and perspiration

New things can come into existence

Of course you hope to capture lightning in a bottle

Value of your creation skyrockets, your company declared a unicorn

And you would be hailed as a genius

That is all well and good, but first do the hard part

Envision a new future and make it happen

Trials (an acrostic poem)

The start to an ordeal is never easy

Reaching down deep to find the follow through can be painful

It can make you want to turn back, give up, curl up in a ball

And yet, there is so much awaiting you on the other end of it all

Look, you know it won’t be easy but…

Success is usually worth the price of admission
