Eager to push her buttons
Denise kept asking her mommy why
Giving her mommy the gift of a headache and a short-fused temper
Eventually, after fifteen more whys, the temper exploded
Whitlling away at his soul to earn sustenance
Only he never felt sustained
Reaching lower and lower depths of despair
Knowing eventually he will fall out the bottom and drop into nothingness
Being such an acerbic person
Allowed him to eat through most of the resistance he encountered
So it surprised him when she neutralized him so easily
Eventually, he found out the reason was she was caustic
Coming violently together was their usual M.O.
Obliterating everyone and everything around them with such a release of energy
Love contains almost limitless potential energy waiting to be continuously released, but…
Lust was a poor substitute with so many limits
It would be expended so quickly in a blink of an eye
Deforming each of their spirits, leaving permanent dents therein
Eventually becoming as cold as the void that remained.
Plunging into the words
And swimming the story
Going deeper and deeper
Eventually forced to come up for air and a dose of reality
