Starlight (an acrostic poem)

Stars send speeding photons flying through the nothingness

To land blissfully on my eyes as I look heavenward

Awestruck at the age of the light that graced me

Realizing a small chunk of ancient history

Looking at a place that might not exist anymore

It causes me to pause, wondering what I am casting into the void around me

Giving life to something that will outlast my stay in this universe

Hoping that someone will gaze upon that something and be inspired

To create their own light and cast it into the unknown

Strings (an acrostic conversation)

Stuff like this yarn makes the entire universe.”

That is total bull and you know it!”

Really?  And what makes you such an expert, do you do physics?”

I know something much better than physics that tells me that’s a lie.”

Never going to believe you, but why don’t you tell me.”

Given that cats exist, and if the universe is made of yarn stuff, why haven’t cats unraveled everything?”

So you know what, you may be on to something.”

Massage (an acrostic poem)

Manipulating the data to make it relax

And at the same time stimulate the viewer to see the answers contained within

So, it should come to no surprise that, at times, the data might be stretched too far

Snapping off the meaning from the numbers

And creating a new thesis from the ether

Giving a new discourse that never even had a whisper

Exist in the original census of the world

Story (an acrostic poem)

So what would you say if I told you that magic really does exist

That it surrounds you, but you don’t even notice it

Or that you probably have magic in your house right now

Really. Lean in close and let me tell you a secret

You only need to open a book and let it cast its spell on you

Can it be we are a time that the number of likes is a metric of success?

Leaving empty falsehoods and catchy memes the currency of the realm

It is sad that each one of us has to become fact checkers to just exist

Creating a media weariness that affects all of us to one degree or another

Keeping us dreading, yet secretly addicted to, that next mouse ….
