New (an acrostic poem)

Ned thought he had been doing better as of late with trying different experiences

Extra things that his old self would have never even thought of trying

Watching the ground accelerate towards him made him reconsider that decision

Degree (an acrostic poem)

Diplomas carry so much weight for mere pieces of paper

Everything that goes into them distilled into a few words

Giving the holder the opportunity to advertise themselves

Revealing their skills and knowledge

Experiences woven into the very fibers

Education immortalized in the transient

Adrift (an acrostic poem)

Always looking for the new thing

David believed in the accumulation of experiences

Reality was he was always looking for what he was a “natural” for

It never seemed what he was doing would fit

Frustrating him and forcing him to search ever elsewhere

To never find what he thought he must be born to do
