Magnetic (an acrostic poem)

Mutual attraction brought the two of them together

And once they touched, they were inseparable

Giving those around them uneasy feelings

Not because of their intense connection

Explicitly because they were so opposite of each other

Their friends thought any day now the relationship would explode

It didn’t dawn on them that the couples’ differences were what united them

Causing their two halves to truly be one whole

Like (an acrostic poem)

Love was definitely too strong of a word

It was kind of possibly closer to admiring or appreciating

Knowing they were all related he gave up and confessed his feelings to her

Everyone laughed when he said to her “I prefer you.  A lot.”

Hygge (an acrostic poem)

Hearth is happily crackling, telling a tale of mirth

Yielding a soft warm glow into the room

Gifting a cozy sense of calm and comfort

Grafting the coming season to your soul

Entombing negative feelings for another time, another place

Couldn’t believe I even had a shot, to be honest

Last thing I thought would happen was that you liked me too

Old feelings of insecurity and inadequacy swamped me when we were apart, but together, that was something amazing

So when I popped the question I was at an emotional breaking point

Even though you said no, I…

Splash (an acrostic poem)

So you think you’re a real big deal?

Perhaps you’re right, but to me you are just meh

Love to hear that?  Well get used to it

As you can’t seem to find the words to express yourself

So tell me princess, do you like feeling like you’re a fish out of water?

Here’s to trying to figure out how to stand on your own two feet

Thread (an acrostic poem)

Twisting herself into knots

Heather tried to bind her feelings

Reasoning while her life was unraveling

Enabled her to look at the patterns emerging

And stitch something together that was quite beautiful out of tragedy

Daring someone else to make it through the eye of her needle

Lies Hurt (an acrostic poem)

Little white ones are okay

If you don’t want to bruise their feelings, right?

Even if you should be honest, face it

So many more times they edge towards they gray

Here is the true balancing act

Until you find where the white gets dirty

Really you are golden

Then you finally cross that line, and you did, didn’t you?
