Fires roared through the house, consuming everything in their path
Leaving behind black charred remains of a lifetime together
All of those bits of the past turned to smoke as if an offering to a non-existent deity
Mumbling to himself, the former occupant of the home shuffled in his slippers down the street
Everyone would be worried about his dementia, but if he couldn’t have those memories, no one would.

Bucket (an acrostic poem)
Become part of a brigade
Uplift everyone and pass them on
Checking to make sure they are full as they leave your care
Keeping them moving and helping them put out their fires along the way
Everyone just has to do a little to have a large impact
Then we can assist each other when we are empty by filling each other back up
Ash (an acrostic poem)
And the fires of rejection and hatred consumed his heart
Slag remained after the flames died down to embers
He left her, and the ruins of his life, behind as he staggered away

Miracle (an acrostic poem)
Misha looked back over the waves
In the distance, she could still see the fires on the shore
Reaching out, she placed a comforting hand on Herb
After everything, the two of them had been through
Cutting ties with their past and sailing into the unknown was the hardest
Last week it looked like they would both be dead in a mass grave
Even unbelievers like Misha could recognize their escape for what it was

Juggle (a 50 word thingee)
So many words to juggle, but tonight I don’t have the dexterity to do so. I am closing my circus in hopes that tomorrow the show can go on. If not, I know of some great friends who will help me set the fires and collect the insurance. True dat!
