Quitting the task had never crossed his mind

Unless you counted when he woke up, most of the time during the day, and just before sleeping

Every moment he thought about stopping he somehow found the will to finish it

So when that music in his head announced he was finally done, he let out a sigh of relief

That was short-lived since he realized all he had been doing was just a side…

Base (an acrostic poem)

Being such an acerbic person

Allowed him to eat through most of the resistance he encountered

So it surprised him when she neutralized him so easily

Eventually, he found out the reason was she was caustic

Hubris (an acrostic poem)

He thought he knew exactly what to do

Until he found out the hardware wouldn’t work

Being too smart for his own good he whipped up something new

Realizing that was a wasted four hours because he had just simply wired the original backwards

It had worked all the time if he had just opened his eyes and slowed down

So much for a calm Sunday

Solve (an acrostic poem)

So many questions that need answers found

Only each of those answers spawn more crunchy questions

Leaving the circle of knowledge ever turning

Valuable as that cycle is, sometimes you just want to find an end

Especially when it come to taking an exam

Dread (an acrostic poem)

Doomed to keep repeating her mistakes like some deranged version of Groundhog Day

Rachel kept trying to break the cycle

Except she never found a way

And so here she was again

Doomed to keep repeating her mistakes like some deranged version of Groundhog Day

Anchor (an acrostic poem)

Adrift in a sea of high emotions

No sunrise on the horizon to be found

Caution blew away with the high winds hours ago

Hearing the waves pounding on the rocks

Only thing he could safely do was ground himself against the current

Releasing the weight, he felt it plunge deep and hold, but for how long

Villain (an acrostic poem)

Venomous words spewed with intense malice

It made the whole encounter even more toxic

Leaving me looking for the exit

Lo, there was no exit to be found

As I was cut off by more vile miscreants

It made me sick to my stomach

Now just because I had poisoned their water supply…

Found (an acrostic poem)

Floundering in the fog, looking for anything familiar

Overhead the moon peers down, but she can’t see me

Unable to get my bearings I just decide a direction and march

Nearer to a destination, come what may

Determined to discover where I have been hiding
