Vessel (an acrostic poem)

Vehicle for fluids is raised for another toast

Enables waking dreams as you stumble being possessed

Sometimes you can host a multitude of different spirits simultaneously

Such as wine, beer, and hard liquors

Enough visitors that you reach your max occupancy limit, and you’re forced outside your body

Leaving you empty and full of yourself at the same time

Flashing that killer smile, she absolutely enjoyed watching her effect on the Y chromosomes

Of course, she showed none of this.  She was a mature woman, in full control of her domain

X chromosomes for the win

Cleopatra was definitely her BFF

Leaving that loser Marc Anthony behind of course

And she loved the idea of dancing with Frank Astaire

Singing in the rain dodging the puddles in her swing dress

She enjoyed belting songs with Patsy Kline at full volume

It made her feel connected to life

Could be her soul was so old it was a…

Outside, the darkness was pierced by the full moon

Making the fallen leaves look hauntingly surreal

It was then we she heard the sound of something approaching

Nearer it got, the faster it seemed to be moving, the louder it became, the harder her heart beat

Old primal fears rose from the depths of her hindbrain.  She began to flee the sound

Undulating ground eventually caught her foot causing her to sprawl to the ground

Still, the sounds were getting closer, faster, louder.

Being with you is one of the best things in my life

Under the full moon, with mischief on our minds

Doing deeds we will never talk about unless copious amounts of alcohol are consumed

Determined to make our mark on this world

You know, like the tatts we gave each other

Empty (an acrostic poem)

Emaciated emotional state

Means he didn’t even feel numb

Pushing aside those around him who care

The worst part was normally he was so full of life

Yet here he was, a walking black hole of nothingness

Empty (an acrostic poem)

Everything had been poured out, there was nothing left

Meandering home purely by instinct and no coherent thought

Putting his hat on the coatrack he slumped into his easy chair and kicked up his feet

Turing on the television he let it wash over him mindlessly

Yearningly he absorbed it all in till he was full, not sated, but full
