The height of hypocrisy was laid bare before them in all its naked glory

As they tried to figure out what tale to use to spin a cloak of fool’s gold over everything

Long into the night they schemed and wove their lies together until they were transparent and glorious

Letting them unleash their creation proclaiming the emperor is clothed

Mist (an acrostic poem)

Morning sunrise had its glory diminished by the fog wrapping the ground

It gave the world a sense of magical wonder

So rewarding those awake to witness the scene

That still isnโ€™t enough to make me wake up that early voluntarily

Final Exam (an acrostic poem)

For all the marbles

It is the last hurdle before the summer

Now is the time to prove mastery

And if you do, the glory of that elusive 4.0 awaits

Lest you fall into the pit of despair

Everyone dreads that test, even the professors

X-ray vision on both sides looking for the core of understanding

Amid the trivia of facts and figures

Make your best-educated guess and may the odds be ever in your favor
