“So cool that you know how to play the guitar.”

“Kind of you to say, but I’m the drummer, remember?”

“I know. That’s why we supposedly brought you into the band.”

“Let me get this straight., were you being sarcastic?”

“Lots of love, dude, but call us back when you can count to four.”

Fire (an acrostic poem)

Flames soared up into the night sky, infusing the area with smoke

It lit up the other campers’ eyes and smiles as they witnessed

Reaching for her guitar, Mary began a new song of praise

Everyone was soon singing along as they shared all shared a spiritual spark

Cookie (an acrostic poem)

Chocolate chips, brown sugar, vanilla extract play lead guitar

Oh, and all the stuff that gives it structure like a good back beat

Organize the lumps of raw dough on a baking sheet

Keeping good social distance between them

Igniting the oven and bringing it to temp so this party can get started

Everything comes out ooey, gooey, and so bad for you.  Yum!

(I have not tried them yet, but they look awesome!)

The Blues (an acrostic poem)

Too much guitar can ruin anyone’s day

Heather put it down and looked at the mixer

Everything she had poured her soul into was in there

Being meticulous she began mixing the tracks

Loving living in the minutia of the sound

Understating the rifts, but keeping the sad story moving

Everything was just about perfect

She cried when the mixer hit a sour note and lost everything

Lacking (an acrostic poem)

Leaving Nashville behind, Gary almost left his guitar there too

As if he was going to use it ever again

Couldn’t believe that no one would take him seriously

Killing his dream of becoming the next rockabilly star

Instead it was back to the same old corporate grind

Needless to say they would regret their ambivalence

God knows he had practiced enough for two whole months to make it big
