He danced along his mental landscape

Enjoying the infinite possibilities inside his mind

Allowing his imagination to go wild

Determined to escape the reality his meat brain was stuck in

Clue (an acrostic poem)

Couldn’t figure out how it was done

Leaving me puzzling and scratching my head

Until I finally put two things together

Eventually knowing it was Mr. Green, in the hallway, with the revolver

Mouse (an acrostic poem)

Maybe those dreams of grandeur are inflating your ego

Obviously weighing over a ton would be great

Under a pair of majestic antlers atop your head

Still, remember little one, there is a difference in what you are and your dreams

Even though it’s just a u and an o.

Comfort (an acrostic poem)

Creamy mac and cheese gooeyness winked at her from the plate

Ordering it had been a close thing.

More often than not she would have just gotten the salad

Fork discarded, she hefted her spoon

Outside world faded away as she hefted the golden goodness into her mouth

Relishing as her tastebuds fully validated her decision

That’s when she felt the warm and fuzzies from her head to her toes.

Fossil (an acrostic poem)

Feeling ancient, well beyond his years

Oliver groaned, stretched, and popped a few vertebrae back in place

So many stairs to climb to get to his bed made him shake his head

So heavy limbs, like they were made of stone

It made him want to just lay down here for all of eternity

Laughing, he thought he now knew how the dinosaurs felt

Blast (an acrostic poem)

Bombs went off in his head when Lindsey announced she was pregnant

Liam was blown away.  “How could that have happened?”

And that caused Lindsey to explode into laughter.

So now you want to know how babies are made?  That’s a riot!”

The roar of blood rushing to his head was the last thing he heard before he passed out.

Lost (an acrostic poem)

Looking for something familiar, some landmark to rattle is memory

Order to placate the chaos inside his head

Still, no matter how much he looked, there was nothing

That was worse than any Hollywood boogeyman ever

Contact (an acrostic poem)

Close enough to whisper into her ear

Orlando still hesitated.  He worried how she would react

Never had he been this close to her

To think how long it had taken to plan this out

And now this was his time.  He decided to reach out

Crashing to the ground, he bounced his head off the concrete as he was tackled

To think he had almost licked Taylor Swift!

Trip (an acrostic poem)

The frequent flyer miles might be great, but he hadn’t signed up

Really he hated flying, especially the landings

It always gave him anxiety that moment just before touching down

Pain exploded in his head as he hit the floor.

Theft (an acrostic poem)

Then he realized his heart was missing

He looked around wildly, looking for who had stolen it

Ellen smiled, knowing the answer

Finally, he felt her hand in his and shook his head

That’s when he kissed her and tried to take her breath away
