Putting words in where emotions feared to tread

Out into the world, unprotected, left to fly or flounder on their own

So every time I press that button and make something come alive on the web

That is the moment where I add a bit more to the universe and wait to hear what echoes back

Pulse (an acrostic poem)

Palpitations made him stop in his tracks

Until his heart began to beat normally

Listening, he could hear others fleeing to the north

So he continued fleeing eastward and hoped his pursuers would go in that direction

Except hope was extinguished when a slug ripped through his chest

Crabby (an acrostic poem)

Couldn’t care less what you think Miss Know It All!

Rarely does something come out of your mouth that’s worth a damn

And right now isn’t one of those moments

Being the refined person, such that I am, I won’t allow myself to stoop to your level

Because to do so would admit that you put me in a foul temper, but we both know that’s not the case

You just run along now and go to Hell, you hear?

Club (an acrostic poem)

Can’t hear the person next to you even though they are shouting into your ear

Loud doesn’t start to describe the thump of the speakers

Under that audio assault, your body has no choice but to move to the beat

Becoming yet another cog in the music box machine

Smooth (an acrostic poem)

Sometimes she didn’t know they were recording the conversation

Might have been a problem for a lot of people, but not for her

Others would hem and haw and stutter, but she was concise and clear

Others would say things they didn’t mean or didn’t want others to hear, she was honest and

That’s why she was happy the whole thing went to court

Here they would what she said in her own voice, and that voice said, “No.”

Bass (an acrostic poem)

Image: the-pool.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/best-car-speakers-for-bass.png

Booming vibrato oscillating his tonsils

As his car vibrated with each beat, threatening to loosen every fastener

So, he knew he should lower the volume, but

Since he just couldn’t stand to hear her voice anymore…

Dial (an acrostic poem)

Digits scattered around in a ritualistic circle

It spun and clicked as it began its spell

And soon there were disembodied voices talking from the other side

Listen close and you might hear grandma

Rhythm (an acrostic poem)

Reaching down deep for the beat

You feel it leap through your body

The pulses making muscles ripple and contract

How can you not dance to its command?

Maybe because your feet can’t hear the …

Splash (an acrostic poem)

So you think you’re a real big deal?

Perhaps you’re right, but to me you are just meh

Love to hear that?  Well get used to it

As you can’t seem to find the words to express yourself

So tell me princess, do you like feeling like you’re a fish out of water?

Here’s to trying to figure out how to stand on your own two feet
