Get off you backside and conquer your part of  the world

Or not.  Maybe you would rather use your imagination, no matter what just do you

Write (an acrostic poem)

Image: i.ytimg.com/vi/vdKNcw5IYv0/maxresdefault.jpg

Words dribble out of my fingers

Raw unfiltered fragments of imagination

Incandescent with flashes of brilliance

Though often followed by long droughts of darkness

Engulfing everything in shades of mediocrity

Cinema (an acrostic poem)

Composing art through words and images

Inspiring imagination and thought through deep story telling

Nobody is falling asleep in the dark, too much emotion and adrenaline

Everyone is mesmerized by what is happening on the big screen

Many will watch it again at home, but that collective theater experience is special

Allowing for a brief moment a community zeitgeist that can be transformative

Head (an acrostic poem)

He danced along his mental landscape

Enjoying the infinite possibilities inside his mind

Allowing his imagination to go wild

Determined to escape the reality his meat brain was stuck in

Story (an acrostic poem)

Image: images.wisegeek.com/quill-and-ink.jpg

Solid pieces of imagination

That are forced into reality through the writer’s skill and anxiety

Order forged out of the chaos of emotions

Released into the world to live or die upon the whims of readers

Yet likely the author will mourn either way

Word Count (an acrostic poem)

When sitting down in front of her computer

Olivia began her daily penance

Racing fingers

Dancing on the keyboard

Crafting new realms from the ether

Outpouring her imagination onto the page

Until she felt she could write no more that day

Nanowrimo would push her to become the writer she wanted to be

That or break her will to write till New Years.

Dream State

Bill looked around the small study room.  He closed his quantum physics book and grimaced.  That grimace quickly flipped into a bemused grin as he looked at Cherie.  “This stuff hurts my head.”

Cherie matched his bemused smile with one of her own.  “It’s supposed to.  It’s how everything in the universe works.”

“It doesn’t have to be that way,” Bill said pointing at the book.

“Okay Einstein, what do you think is happening?”

“What happens if this is all one big simulation or even a dream?”

“A dream?”  She knocked on the table.  “Seems a pretty solid dream.”

“No really, pretend I am the only being in the universe.”

Cherie sat back and crossed her arms.  “Then what am I, chopped liver?”

“You would be a figment of my imagination.”

“With all my personal problems you have one fucked up imagination.”

“I never said I wasn’t a sicko,” Bill said.  “I would need everything to keep me as sane as possible though.  Otherwise, I would be a real whack job.”

“I think your dream isn’t working too well if that’s the case.”

“Thanks for the vote of confidence.”

“I’m here for you.  Or maybe not since I don’t exist.”

“Hey, I said it was just a theory.”  He put his book in his backpack.  “Till the next time I see you.”

Cherie shook her head.  “I hope so, otherwise I wouldn’t exist.”

Bill laughed to himself as he left the room and closed the door.  He walked down the hallway daydreaming about his hypothesis.

Behind the door there was nothing.

Inspired (an acrostic poem)

Imagination unleashed upon the universe

Never accepting preexisting boundaries

Seeking to push into the forever

Perceptions shift on the sands of time

Redefining new realities

Enabling us to lurch forward

Determining an undetermined future
