Mist (an acrostic poem)

Most of the time the future was pretty clear for her

It might not be the most exciting or glamorous, but it was predictable, just the way she wanted

So imagine her surprise when things started being murky

The fog descended on her future, and she was so scared she never took another step.

Given how much he was startled

A sharp intake of breath was to be expected

So imagine their astonishment when that intake kept going and going…

Perhaps you shouldn’t surprise Kirby.

Harp (an acrostic conversation)

How much do I hate you?  Let me count the ways.”

As if you can complain.  I’m the best thing for you.”

Really?  That’s about as offkey of a response as I can imagine.”

Perhaps, but I am secure in my knowledge that I know how to pull your strings.”

Penny (an acrostic poem)

Perhaps it is beneath your attention

Every cent counts in the long run, though

Now you might not think too much of your copper buddy

Never picking him up when he’s on the ground

Yet imagine the number of thoughts you didn’t buy because of it

Rebecca (an acrostic poem)

Really can’t believe you said “I do”

Even though it was twenty-three years ago

Because I still hear the echoes of those words every day

Each touch and smile deepen my bond to you

Could never imagine not taking this journey with you

Counting myself blessed beyond any measure

Always and forever yours.

Heat (an acrostic poem)

He couldn’t imagine being colder in that moment

Even though the flames were quite toasty

All he had wanted to do was turn the temperature up a bit

Too bad the electric heater started the house fire

Imagine (an acrostic poem)

If it could be true, then make it happen

Magic is real, and it comes from caring to do the best

All you do does make a difference, you just have to believe

Giving a smile, a hug, a bite to eat, a supportive shoulder, an open ear

It can provide light in a world that focuses on darkness

Never underestimate what impact you can have in the world

Envision a better world because of you
