Bedlam (an acrostic poem)

Bonkers, it’s absolutely bonkers I say.”

Everything is in turmoil?”

Double turmoil, with a cherry on top and a fireball whiskey chaser!”

Let’s calm down for a moment.  What happened?”

All I can say is it involves a fish, a poleaxe, and two large bottles of ammonia.”

Maybe it’s best if I don’t know.  I don’t want to go to jail!”

Store (an acrostic poem)

Selling pieces of his soul was the only way he could get ahead
They were not large pieces, but they all added up
Outside everything was fine, but inside, the echoes of who he had been became a cacophony
Relegating his self-worth into moral bankruptcy
Eventually, he ran out of product, closed up shop, and faded from memory

Bucket (an acrostic poem)

Become part of a brigade

Uplift everyone and pass them on

Checking to make sure they are full as they leave your care

Keeping them moving and helping them put out their fires along the way

Everyone just has to do a little to have a large impact

Then we can assist each other when we are empty by filling each other back up

Shell (an acrostic poem)

Silicon beds abound with bivalves

Hidden under a blanket of warm tropical water

Every wave akin to a gentle breeze that brings savory delights

Letting the colony feast on the bounty of the surrounding sea

Life might suck, but for an ocean filter, that means you are living large!

Cider (an acrostic poem)

Cold pressed apple fluids left outside in a large jug

In the dead of winter the water freezes on top

Driving the flavor into a more concentrated solution below

Each time the blah ice is then removed and the process repeats over and over for months

Rewarded finally with a fermented drink that tasted of sunny autumn days and patience

Stone (an acrostic poem)

So that was the moment he pulled out the engagement ring.

That caught her off guard.  She wasn’t ready yet, but was that her doubt talking?

Only here was the large diamond breaking the light into rainbows in her face.

Now was when she had to make the big decision, not later.  What should she do?

Eventually that became the bedrock of the rest of her life.

Plus (an acrostic poem)

Perks are the sprinkles on the sundae known as life

Little things that add to the overall experience

Undertake your own quest to find these nuggets

So when it is time to leave you can say you lived large

Space Travel (an acrostic poem)

Stars stare without blinking

Putting me ill at ease as I float here

And wonder if I will ever feel solid ground beneath my feet again

Can’t believe those brilliant blue skies are so long gone

Everything out there is so black

To be an interstellar adventurer

Really should be so much more exciting

And it was two years ago, but now?

Viewing the infinite from inside my craft

Everything just seems so small and too large at the same time

Leaving me to wonder why I booked this flight
