Curls (an acrostic poem)

Cutting her hair, at one time, would make her cry. It was such a horrible experience

Utter fear would grip her upon sitting in the chair knowing she was at the mercy of the hairdresser

Red hair ringlets defined the core of who she was and were her pride and joy, so she was so particular

Letting the electric razor zoom across her scalp, she smiled.

Suck it, cancer! She would grow back stronger.

Grip (an acrostic poem)

Giving up and letting go of reality

Realizing being delusional is so much easier to cope

If you think about it, though, that is so scary to do

Perhaps It might be better to hold on for dear life

Complete (an acrostic poem)

Carnage had been prophesied since the day of her birth

Obliterate the evil, or else she would fail, and the world would burn

Many people tried to guide her, their interests, they felt, were the same as hers

Pulling her six different ways at once, she ended up pitting them against each other

Letting their division give her the room to find her own way

Everything was going well.  The darkness was beaten back.

The final battle took place, and in the end, she was victorious

Everyone’s cheers turned to screams when she didn’t stop and began attacking them

Swell (an acrostic poem)

Starlight-sparkles dance on the whitecapped waves

Waltzing their way to a sandy landing

Every new pulse of water brings up another promenade

Letting the dance go on and on throughout the night

Leaving the scene when the sun peaks over the horizon

Tall (an acrostic poem)

The height of hypocrisy was laid bare before them in all its naked glory

As they tried to figure out what tale to use to spin a cloak of fool’s gold over everything

Long into the night they schemed and wove their lies together until they were transparent and glorious

Letting them unleash their creation proclaiming the emperor is clothed

Shell (an acrostic poem)

Silicon beds abound with bivalves

Hidden under a blanket of warm tropical water

Every wave akin to a gentle breeze that brings savory delights

Letting the colony feast on the bounty of the surrounding sea

Life might suck, but for an ocean filter, that means you are living large!

Stable (an acrostic poem)

She was so well grounded

That the emotional lightning around her would just fizzle out

And left those around her with a sense of calm

But the smell of drama ozone remained

Letting them know how close they had been to being zapped

Everyone wishes they had a friend like that
