Looking at her plate, she wondered how she had gotten here

Under the fluorescent yellow liquid cheese, a treasure trove of textures and flavors existed

Now her stomach rumbled in anticipation of the excavation ahead

Crunching a loaded tortilla chip, her tastebuds danced to the symphony of tastes

Hefting her beer and taking a swig, she smiled loving her little bit of heaven

Lava (an acrostic poem)

Liquid rock sprinkles fell down from above

And where it landed, flames erupted

Voluminous black smoke billowed skyward

Ash rained for miles, drenching the earth in foulness

Soup (an acrostic poem)

Slurping a liquid hug

On a cold gray dreary day

Uplifts her spirits, and she sighed contentedly

Perhaps she would be lucky and tomorrow be gloomy again

Coffee (an acrostic poem)

Cup of her liquid wakeup was held close to her nose

Olfactory sensors lit up her brain with anticipation

Followed with her stomach preparing for the scalding acidic onslaught

Fluid of the darkest black splashed and sloshed along her tongue

Everything in her mouth screamed as the heat seared her taste buds

Except she considered that her wakeup alarm symphony.  The day could now begin.

Corn (an acrostic poem)

Crispy fluffy white popped kernels pour out of the kettle

Obscene amounts of liquid butter soon flow over the alabaster landscape slightly seasoned with salt

Releasing that signature smell in the air that screams movie time

Now for the show that is me consuming of this mountain of magnificence

Float (an acrostic poem)

Falling below the surface of the water

Looking back at the border between the liquid and gaseous states

Opening my mouth, bubbles race away to freedom

As I continue to sink deeper

There I found my value of buoyancy

Shine (an acrostic poem)

So smooth.  The clear liquid hardly burned.

He knew this batch would sell well

It just meant dodging the Feds till he dropped off this batch

Not that he hadn’t done hundreds of times

Eventually, his luck would run out, but hopefully not before the still did
