Hello there. I am glad you came today to look at my little poem
I hope you will come by tomorrow for a longer, more in-depth one
Hello there. I am glad you came today to look at my little poem
I hope you will come by tomorrow for a longer, more in-depth one
Being sick is no fun
Looking at your to-do list
And not having the energy needed to check anything off
How much longer till bed?
Putting the food for today on her credit card
Or she would have, but it was denied like usual
Of course, that meant she was going to go hungry again
Really if it happened too much longer and she would get a meal at the emergency room
Living at the end of the line
As she watches people cut in up ahead
She should be really upset at having to wait longer but,
The fact she doesn’t have to go home yet made her so safe and happy
Slowly the space between seconds became longer and longer
Leaving me breathless as I contemplated what was happening
Eventually I gave up and got out of bed
Everything I walked by was absolutely still
People didn’t even blink when I threatened them
Leaving my house behind I went out in the world
Even there time had stopped
Silently I began to cry
So wish I had been able to snooze
