Mean (an acrostic poem)

Maybe being average isn’t that bad after all

Everyone is a large sample size

And it means you did better than half of them

Now just ignore the fact that half the population is better than you

Shame (an acrostic poem)

So many wanted her to stay inside the box of their construction

Happy and content with the societal norms

All she wanted to do was be free, to be herself

Maybe if they all accepted that she would have bloomed

Except they belittled her for being different till she hid away her truth until it was gone

Youth (an acrostic poem)

You remember those days when your body didn’t ache

Or you could eat two pizzas and not gain a pound

Until that dreaded middle age kicked in

That flipped your whole world, but you didn’t notice till it was too late

Here we are now, but there is a silver lining.  Okay, maybe not.

Swarm (an acrostic poem)

So many annoyances buzzing all around.

Why are they picking on me?

All I want to do is swat at these bothersome gits

Releasing me to get on with my life

Maybe if I bought one of those electric zappers
