Putting color onto the canvas brought a smile to his face and chase away his frustrations

As the white disappeared behind his assured strokes, his happiness grew

It was cathartic to brush in his happy little trees standing tall

Nothing could ruin his mood now

This is where all his mistakes were opportunities

Frown (an acrostic poem)

Finding upside down smiles scattered among the audience

Richard tried to make a quick joke to lighten the mood

Only it didn’t work, and more people joined the unhappy camp

When he decided one more time, they started to angrily yell at him

Nobody warned him that practicing his startup at a funeral was going to be such a bad idea

Picking the right color is so important to create the correct atmosphere

A shade too dark and it puts people in a somber mood

If its too light they will feel not grounded in the space

Now if you go for a wild color, well that just causes people to go insane

That’s why the world believes in beige, and why I avoid it like the plague.

Snack (an acrostic poem)

She was so hungry.  It had been way too long

Now she had lots of opportunities to do something about it

And she sampled a few of the wares offered to her, but none had hit the spot

Candy for the eye almost always left her unsatisfied

Knowing all that, she was still willing to give him a try.  She was in the mood for at least a…

Stabbing light slashed down from stone-gray clouds

The weather perfectly fit Patty’s mood as fat raindrops ravaged the arid soil

Outside nature threw one of her best temper tantrums

Reminding Patty of her last relationship when she finally broke it off

Men could be such whiners

Outpost (an acrostic poem)

Outside all was quiet except for that ever-present northern wind

Ugly clouds shouted that something bad was coming

That put Kristoff into an even more foul mood

Pulling duty in such a remote Nordic section of the kingdom was horrible

Observing his youth and career slowly blowing away in this wasteland was worse

So deep he was in his musings that he didn’t hear the twang of the released bowstring

The snow soon covered up the red stain

Get Paid (an acrostic poem)

Ginny hated volunteering with a passion

Even if it was for an awesome cause like the animal shelter

That’s why she was in such a black mood, but she was there

Patrick came in, happy to see Ginny showed up

As he handed her her favorite coffee he turned up the wattage of his smile

It made Ginny rethink this whole volunteering thing

Dollars weren’t the only currency around
