Cash (an acrostic poem)

Image: upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/f/f9/Money_Cash.jpg/1024px-Money_Cash.jpg

Couldn’t spend his money fast enough

All the things were needed, and they were needed yesterday

So when he went to check out, he was short the amount needed

He looked to his mom.  She sighed and pulled out her credit card. Happy birthday?

Salty (an acrostic poem)

Swearing up a blue streak was her pressure relief mechanism

And she needed all the relief she could get tonight

Little did she know her ex was going to be there with his super-model girlfriend

That’s when she knew she had to do something to assert dominance

Yet loosening the tops to the seasoning shakers were probably not the route to go

Easy (an acrostic poem)

Effortlessly he spouted the information he knew she needed

And was proud of how much he had helped her

So it came as a surprise when she screamed and swore at him

You would think since she was a gynecologist she would be more appreciative when he explained how a female orgasms

Gamble (an acrostic poem)

Giving a toss of the dice, he closed his eyes

And projected the vision he needed as he heard them hit the table

Maybe if he truly believe, his luck would decide to work

But belief and seven bucks would buy him a venti latte at Starbucks

Looking at the pips he shook his head dejectedly. He’d have to go to work tomorrow

Except it wasn’t time to leave yet. He pulled out the last of his bankroll

Haze (an acrostic poem)

How hard it was for him to see far into the distance

And that was the whole reason why he was there

Zany things were in the works, and he needed to know how it would pan out

Except the fortune teller was exclaiming that his future was pretty …

Kite (an acrostic poem)

Know how to fly, little one?

It involves string, cloth, structure, and magic

The first three are needed to make the object

Eventually the last is provided by the young ones watching it soar

Together (an acrostic poem)

There is so much you can’t do by yourself

Others are needed to make it happen

Getting your tribe on board might not be easy

Everyone might have different opinions or a different way to do it

That’s when you need to realize we are all in this

Here is where we need to work extra hard listening and not attacking

Enabling the collective to try and fail as we look towards success

Realizing this is why in these tough times we need to stick…

Rest (an acrostic poem)

Relaxing with her beer, she smiled at her day

Everything had gone wrong with the day

Still, her family was healthy, and they all had food in their tummies

That, and a good night’s sleep, was all they needed to make tomorrow better

Tears (an acrostic poem)

The drops of water slowly rolled down her face

Eventually falling to the dirt below

And yet neither her, nor that patch of earth, were quenched

Reality was that both needed more

She emptied herself trying though.
