Questing for the impossible
Unlocking her love and admiration
It eventually became apparent he was tilting at windmills
That’s when he gave up and put away his armor, and then she finally noticed him
Questing for the impossible
Unlocking her love and admiration
It eventually became apparent he was tilting at windmills
That’s when he gave up and put away his armor, and then she finally noticed him
Gripping the dirt like he was afraid to fall into the sky
Really it was his muscles clenching all at once
Outside the thunder rumbled, marking sonically where he had been zapped
Under those angry clouds, the smell of ozone persisted
Not that the people with the ski masks on noticed. They were too busy trying to flee, but they
Didn’t have time because Thor stood back up and smiled. “Now it’s my turn.”
That’s when she pulled up her sleeves before
Reaching behind his ear to pull out a twenty-dollar bill
It amazed not only the crowd, but her as well
Checking again, she pulled yet another twenty from his ear. She tried again
Kept pulling out the money yet no one noticed his ears seemed to grow pointy
Revealing each tear slowly
As the thought of you not being here sets in
It soon becomes a torrent, soaking the earth in front of me
Not that I noticed. I was lost in the emotional downpour
The Silence snuck up on Deidre, and before she knew it, she was in its clutches. She tried to speak up, but no one could hear her. She tried to get anyone’s attention about her problem, but no one noticed. No one seemed to care why the Silence picked her.
Years later she finally broke through, finding her voice once again. By then no one wanted to believe what happened to her that had caused Silence to so viciously destroy her ability to communicate what had happened.
The Silence had won again and moved on to find its next victim.
