Fog (an acrostic poem)

Focus was impossible in his current cerebral state

Obscuring mental mists drifted along his eerily muffled mind

Giving up he went to bed hoping the dawning sun would burn off the gloomy gray

Technology (an acrostic poem)

The mathmagicians cast their spell of logic

Electrical and mechanical design engineers took that energy and gave it physical form

Constructing a simulacrum of silicon and glass

Handing it off to the whisperers of binary

Now they coded in the soul and function of the new beast

Ordering the chaos of all the possibilities of this new creation

Lifting it from an inanimate object

Obscuring the line between animated and animator

Giving the world a new fascination that

You can hold in your hand

Costly (an acrostic poem)

Casualty numbers kept trickling in

Obscuring the greatness of the victory

Still, Vincent had to admit he’d lost over a quarter of his troops

They sold their lives dearly though

Littering the fertile fields with their enemy’s dead

Years later the soil still held the scent of their sacrificial blood

Fear (an acrostic poem)

Forcing his eyes open, Kevin squinted at the light

Eyes watered from the fetid smell, further obscuring his vision

All of his being screamed at him to run away

Run he did, but at the monster, scaring it away
