Debris swirled in the breeze caused by the opening door
Uncovering a notebook long forgotten, if the amount of dirt inside the chamber.
She bent down to grab it, to unlock its secrets
The moment she touched it she turned to…

Ever wonder what’s inside?
Not opening it, but imagining the contents.
Viewing it held up to the light to get a hint.
Everything telling you not to open it.
Laying it down on the desk you try to walk away
Only you can’t.
Pushing you to your breaking point until you give up and rip the seal
Everything changes in that moment.
Falling below the surface of the water
Looking back at the border between the liquid and gaseous states
Opening my mouth, bubbles race away to freedom
As I continue to sink deeper
There I found my value of buoyancy

The laser fire burned the landscape around Gordon
Racing to cover he drew a bead on its source
Opening fire himself he silenced the combatant
Only that marked his own position. Gordon felt a burn then nothing evermore
Pushing past his eternal vigil, the rest of the platoon didn’t have time to mourn

“Do you remember when they didn’t open automatically?”
“Of course I do. I’m older than you, you fool.”
“Obviously, look at your lack of hair.”
“Really? I’m going to kick you through one in just a second.”
“Man, just calm down. Back then, people, had jobs opening them.”
“And where the hell are you going with this?”
“Now my backup career is becoming extinct, and I never got one of the hats.”
So the numbers just don’t add up
Their defense shouldn’t be able to stop us
And yet we can’t seem to move the ball
Then again they haven’t been able to move it either
So after the opening kickoff, I think both sides will make changes

There was only so much adrenaline that could flood her system
Helen felt the seat vibrate as the engine revved
Rolling through the corner with the gas pedal on the floor
If she could just squeeze out a bit more speed
Looking for an opening to make her move
Leaping at her chance she dove to the bottom, hoping her car would stick
Even with the other car, she slowly drifted up the track
Determined to never be left behind again

Green traffic light cuts the darkness
Opening the way for me
Feeling the pavement pass under my wheels
Outside becomes surreal
Racing through this new reality
Itching to shift it into the next gear
Throwing caution to the wind, I do it
